December 22, 2008 – 12:23 pm

If you or your family is planning a trip to Orlando, Florida, you aren’t alone.

Located in central Florida, Orlando is a popular tourist attraction because of the many theme parks located there. The most popular park is Walt Disney World, with an estimated 15.2 million visitors a year. Other attractions and things to do while visiting Orlando include The Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Animal Kingdom, Seaworld, Universal Studios-Florida and Disney-MGM Studios.

Ticket prices vary per theme park, a quick check of Disney’s website listed a one day ticket for an adult (age 10+) as $75.00. Children’s tickets (age 3-9) were $63.00.

Multi-day tickets to these family friendly destinations give visitors the chance to enjoy more than one day at these theme parks and offer a bit of savings to the consumer. Vacationers that stay in a Disney Resort might also be eligible for additional discounts on admission to their family of resorts.

Other smaller attractionss in the area include Gatorland in South Orlando, Wet-N-Wild, a 25 acre waterpark and the Orlando Science Center, north of Orlando.

For those that would prefer to do something other than the theme Park shuffle, another popular thing to do is to hit the golfing greens. Popular golf courses in the Orlando area include Osprey Ridge Golf Course, Palm Golf Course, Eagle Pines Golf Course and the Magnolia Golf Course.

Shopping is another great thing to do while staying in Orlando. There
are outlet malls that offer a myriad of products including designer clothing, electronics and jewelry, sometimes at significantly lower prices than retail.

Due to its’ location in the middle of the Sunshine state, if visitors want to swim in the Atlantic ocean, they’ll need to drive to Daytona or Cocoa Beach to enjoy a day at the beach.
